John Scott leads All-Star vote, but would rather not

John Scott will only laugh with you just a little longer, Internet.

The Arizona Coyotes policeman admitted that while he and his teammates are having fun with the fact that he's the current leader of the NHL All-Star fan vote, he would prefer to see a slip in the polls.

"I don't want to have my name in the headlines for this reason," Scott said, according to Sarah McLellan of azcentral sports, adding, "hopefully it'll die down over time.

"I definitely don't want to be voted into the All-Star Game. It would be cool, but I definitely don't deserve it to this point."

Scott's not slamming the door on potential participation, though, as there's still time to improve on the one assist he's accumulated in six games this season.

"You never know. There's still some time left. I could turn it on."

Alex Ovechkin, Patrick Kane, and Jaromir Jagr (who isn't clamoring for votes, either) are the ones currently hot on Scott's heels.
