VIDEO: Capitals' Latta drops Avs' Wagner twice

Geoff Burke / USA Today

The Colorado Avalanche were beat up Saturday night, and not only on the scoreboard.

Washington Capitals center Michael Latta dropped Chris Wagner with a hit at center ice. Wagner took exception, and then found himself back on the ice, this time thanks to Latta's fists.

One of those nights.

The Capitals won 7-3, helped by three-point games from Evgeny Kuznetsov (one goal, two assists) and Jason Chimera (three assists). Alex Ovechkin had a goal and an assist.

Washington essentially ended the game in the first period, scoring four goals to chase Reto Berra.

Avalanche forward Matt Duchene picked up an assist to extend his point streak to six games (six goals, six assists).
