Reto Berra's night at work Saturday lasted 20 minutes.
The Colorado Avalanche goaltender was on the bench to start the second period after allowing four goals on 11 shots. Calvin Pickard took his place in the crease.
The Avalanche had no answer for the Capitals, who scored three minutes into the game, at 7:15, at the 10-minute mark, and with 43 seconds left in the first.
Berra started the season exceptionally well, but has struggled in three straight starts. He allowed four goals on 26 shots against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday, and four goals on 30 shots Thursday against the Pittsburgh Penguins - a week to forget.
