The Sacramento Kings will be without their star center when they take on the Miami Heat on Thursday night, as DeMarcus Cousins has been suspended one game after delivering a forearm to the head of Atlanta Hawks big man Al Horford on Wednesday.

No foul - either common, flagrant, or technical - was called on the play, though flagrants and technicals can be assessed retroactively. Cousins already has two techs to his name this season, 14 shy of the threshold for an additional one-game suspension.

The most recent example of a retroactive tech came during last season's playoffs, when Matthew Dellavedova was handed one a day after leg-locking Taj Gibson.

Cousins is averaging 27.5 points and 11.1 rebounds per game, while shooting a remarkable 41.2 percent from 3-point range. He'd hit all of 11 threes - on 69 attempts (15.9 percent) - in his first five seasons.

The Kings have been 10.7 points per 100 possessions better with him on the floor, and they're 0-4 this season when he doesn't play.
