A friendly match between France and England at Wembley Stadium will be played as scheduled on Tuesday after multiple attacks in Paris left at least 129 people dead and many more wounded on Friday.

The match was initially slated to be suspended in the immediate aftermath of the attacks, but the French Football Federation (FFF) said Saturday that the game will be played as scheduled.

"After discussions which established there is no special hazard preventing the holding of the match, we have decided to hold the fixture," a spokesman for the FFF said, according to the Guardian.

The status of the friendly also depends on UK's Football Association (the FA), but the FA released its own statement Saturday morning, with chairman Greg Dyke confirming the friendly on England's end as well.

"Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with the city of Paris after these terrible atrocities," Dyke said. "On behalf of the FA, I want to express our sorrow and send our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of those who have lost their lives.

"After consulting this morning with the French Football Federation and the British government, we have decided together that the match between our two countries at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday night should go ahead. We will use the opportunity to pay our respects to all affected and also to express our solidarity with the people of France."

While the international friendly will continue as planned, an under-20 match between the two countries, scheduled for Saturday in France, has been cancelled.
