Major League Soccer announced Tuesday the three-man shortlist for the 2015 Landon Donovan MVP award.

MLS Golden Boot winner Sebastian Giovinco of Toronto FC is joined by Columbus Crew forward Kei Kamara and Sporting Kansas City midfielder Benny Feilhaber as the trio nominated for the league's top individual honor.

Giovinco scored 22 goals this season and recorded 16 assists, guiding Toronto to its first-ever playoff appearance. The "Atomic Ant" broke the league record for most combined points in a single season and received Italian national team call-ups for European Championship qualifiers due to his form with the Reds.

Kamara returned to MLS with a fury in 2015, scoring 22 goals along with eight assists, good for second in the Golden Boot race. He carried his team to a second-place finish in the Eastern Conference.

Feilhaber was one of the most influential midfielders in the league this season, recording 15 assists and helping his team secure a spot in the MLS postseason. Despite Sporting KC crashing out on penalties in the first round of the playoffs, Feilhaber's individual performances have him pegged as a favorite among fans for a recall to the U.S. national team.

The award winner will be announced Dec. 2.
