Another day, a similar storyline.
One day after New York Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy made a costly eighth-inning error, the Kansas City Royals had things go their way yet again.
After Lucas Duda's throw sailed wide of catcher Travis d'Arnaud to allow the Royals to tie the game, Citi Field was in absolute shock.
New York would eventually get out of the inning, but not before the Royals came from behind yet again, pushing the contest into extra innings tied at two.
Mets fans would endure heartbreak once again after the Royals rallied for five runs in the 12th inning to capture their second World Series title in franchise history.
