Charlie Austin pledges to stay at QPR until summer

The Championship's most in-demand striker says he'll be there until the summer.

Despite links to a move to Sam Allardyce's Sunderland, Queens Park Rangers goal-machine Charlie Austin has told media he won't leave the London outfit during the January transfer window.

"I can't see myself leaving in January, because I'm concentrating on playing for QPR," Austin told Sky Sports. "I think I owe it (to) them and my loyalty is with them, to help them and get promoted."

QPR was relegated last season following a dismal 20th-place finish despite 18 goals and five assists from Austin. The club currently sits 10th in the Championship table, five points clear of a coveted playoff position.

Austin cites the importance of foresight when it comes to big decisions like leaving the club he joined in 2013.

"Football is a small career and you have to make the right decisions, the right moves, and if it's right for myself, and my family and the people I bounce the ideas off then I will take on anything."
