The Toronto Blue Jays' incredible season came to a close Friday, despite the best efforts of All-Star slugger Jose Bautista.

With his team down to its final five outs of the season, Bautista provided yet another dramatic season-saving homer.

The Blue Jays outfielder became the first player in franchise history to post a multi-homer playoff game when he drilled a two-run blast off Royals right-hander Ryan Madson during the eighth inning to tie Game 6 of the ALCS at 3-3.

Bautista's solo homer in the fourth off Yordano Ventura was his first long ball of the series, and comes on the heels of his dramatic Game 5 home run in the ALDS against Texas.

Despite Bautista's big night, the Royals went on to win Game 6, 4-3, to reach the World Series for the second straight season.

"I was just trying to make something positive happen when I came up to the plate," Bautista told reporters after the game. "I was able to come through twice, unfortunately it wasn’t enough. Sour loss, but we had enough opportunities to do more and we didn’t. They deserved the win."
