Yost credits Royals' resiliency during comeback win

Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost has become almost immune to his team mounting late-game rallies.

It's no longer a question of if, but when, the Royals will come back.

With his team trailing 3-0 entering the seventh inning of Game 2 of the ALCS against the Toronto Blue Jays, the skipper knew his team was far from out of it, despite recording just one hit off David Price through six.

"You knew somewhere over the course of the game that we were going to mount some type of challenge there," Yost said following the eventual 6-3 come-from-behind win.

"Seriously, the first six innings was really tough to see. The glare off the backdrop made it tough. And as soon as the seventh inning came we started to get the shadow back there, I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but that's when we started to get a nice run going."

Aided by several defensive miscues by the visitors, the Royals rallied for five runs in seventh to stun the Blue Jays and chase Price from the game.

Yost credited his team's resiliency following the win, something that's been a theme for Kansas City early this postseason. The Royals have now won four times this postseason when trailing by two or more runs. They were on the brink of elimination in Game 4 of the ALDS before posting a five-run eighth inning to tie the series with the Houston Astros. They'd go on to win the series in five games, and now own a commanding 2-0 series lead heading into Toronto.

"Well, our guys, they never quit," Yost said. "They keep going."
