The Kansas City Royals showed perseverance on Monday in the American League Division Series with their season on the line, scoring five runs to take a 7-6 lead over the Houston Astros in the eighth inning of Game 4.
With the Astros holding a four-run lead entering the eighth, the Royals took advantage of Houston's bullpen to smack single after single, sparking the come-from-behind effort.
The Royals quieted a Minute Maid Park audience that was electric an inning earlier, after back-to-back jacks from Carlos Correa and Colby Rasmus.
After a marvelous performance with the bat and the glove, an error from Correa on a possible double-play grounder kept the eighth inning afloat for the Royals.
