Vardy: I've learned from my 'uncharacteristic' racist behaviour
Jamie Vardy wants to move on from the bad press that followed claims he racially abused a man in a casino over the summer.
Vardy apparently thought a man was looking at his cards and instructed him to move away from the poker table. In the video obtained by the Sun, Vardy appears to point and refer to the man by a racial slur three times.
"I regretted it massively. I've learnt my lesson and moved on," the 28-year-old told BBC Sport soon after winning his third cap for England.
"It was very uncharacteristic of me and that is why I wanted to meet the chap himself. We sat down and had a chat and just said it was literally silly, stupid."
The former non-league player with Stocksbridge Park Steels has been in blistering form for Leicester City so far this term, tallying seven goals in eight games. He's focused on continuing to give Premier League defenders headaches with his terrier-like approach.
"As far as I'm concerned I just want to concentrate on my football now and let my feet do the talking."
