Garrett: Hardy's comments on women, 'guns blazing' not what Cowboys stand for

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett says he's talked to defensive end Greg Hardy about the latter's controversial comments on guns and women and made it clear they weren't appreciated by the organization.

Hardy, who returns from a four-game suspension for domestic violence this week, said he wants to come out "guns blazing" and then cracked jokes about Tom Brady's wife Gisele Bundchen, among others.

Garrett told Hardy that his comments aren't in line with what the Cowboys stand for, ESPN's Todd Archer reports.

"We want to distinguish ourselves with our play, not with what you say ... He understands that now," Garrett said.

Hardy was widely criticized for his comments. Christine Brennan of USA Today wrote a particularly scathing take-down, calling Hardy "unrepentant and immature."
