Sergio Aguero equals Premier League record by scoring 5 goals vs. Newcastle
When Sergio Aguero decides to break a scoring drought, he does so in style.
Coming into Saturday's match against lowly Newcastle, Aguero found himself mired in one of the most extended scoring slumps of his Premier League career.
The Manchester City striker took to the pitch at the Etihad with just one league tally to his name on the season - a goal he scored all the way back in August against Chelsea. The Citizens' marvelous start to the season had been derailed, and many pointed to Aguero's drought as the main reason for the struggles.
It took 551 minutes, but the Argentine finally got himself back on the scoresheet in the 42nd minute of the contest.

And then all hell broke loose.
Aguero, obviously not willing to cede the title of world's best striker to Robert Lewandowski, matched the Bayern Munich forward by netting four more times against a hapless Newcastle side - and in the process equalled the Premier League record for goals scored by a single player in one match, joining some exclusive company.

After recording his first goal of the match, Aguero went on to score in the 49th, 50th, 60th, and 62nd minutes to complete his quintet.
It wasn't five goals in nine minutes, but it was pretty damn impressive nonetheless.

Aguero was substituted shortly after his fifth goal of the contest, leaving the pitch to a rousing ovation and watching on from the bench as his side strolled to a 6-1 victory.
