Robert Lewandowski praises Bayern Munich set-up for his successes

Robert Lewandowski's selfless remarks should help matters at the Allianz Arena, as Europe's hottest striker is quick to credit his Bayern Munich teammates and the tactical set-up for recent goal scoring exploits.

Bavaria's in-form scoreline stuffer offered reasons why he's currently on a run of seven goals in two matches to Raphael Honigstein from ESPNFC.

"It's nice when they're going in but you cannot stop working hard because of that," the 27-year-old Polish international said, "With Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman on the wings, there are lots of crosses, and therefore lots of chances in the box."

Lewandowski raises an interesting point, as both Bayern first-choice wingers, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, are sidelined with injuries, leaving Pep Guardiola to use the two young summer signings.

And while Robben and Ribery are both renowned talents, they have a tendency to cut inside with marauding runs, whereas Costa and Coman are wingers in the traditional mold, emphasizing crosses over vertical attacks.

Lewandowski is wise to understand that a striker is only as good as the service he receives, sharing the plaudits with his two wingers and with the man he shares the striker role with.

"And it also helps that Thomas Muller is playing very closely to me, like a second striker. It's hard to keep the ball when you're up against four defenders and two holding midfielders by yourself.

It's easier with somebody next to you, somebody you can combine with."
