Three-on-three overtime is such a success that it's being talked about as a potential replacement for the traditional All-Star Game, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.

This year's annual showcase will be held Jan. 31 in Nashville, Tenn., and a 3-on-3 mini-tournament format could be in the cards, Dreger reports.

It was reported earlier this year that general managers discussed a potential March Madness-style All-Star Game format.

The skills competition will remain a significant part of All-Star Weekend, Dreger adds, with it taking place on its usual Saturday before Sunday's showcase.
