The Denver Nuggets are keeping with the theme of enormous Europeans in the frontcourt as they fill out their training camp roster.

Oleksiy Pecherov, the 7-foot Ukranian who was picked 18th overall in 2006, will join the Nuggets on a training-camp deal, according to Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post.

Pecherov was stashed overseas by the Washington Wizards for a season, then spent two years with the team before being dealt to Minnesota where he lasted a year with the Timberwolves. In 111 NBA games, Pecherov averaged 3.9 points and 2.4 rebounds while shooting 38.6 percent overall and 33.2 percent from outside of three feet.

Since his NBA stint, Pecherov has played in Italy, Ukraine, Spain, Russia, and, most recently, Estonia. The 29-year-old averaged 15.9 points and 5.1 rebounds last season while knocking down 47.1 percent of his 3-point attempts.

Joining Pecherov and Matt Janning on camp deals will be Devin Sweetney, Dempsey reports. The 2013 NBL Canada MVP, Sweetney went undrafted in 2010 and has played in six different countries since, averaging 20 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists last season in Switzerland and the Dominican Republic.
