Report: 2012 pick Tomas Satoransky expected to join Wizards in 2016-17
Tomas Satoransky may not go the path of Georgios Printezis, left to travel the NBA in only theoretical terms as a never-realized draft consideration, after all.
A second-round pick in 2012, Satoransky has spent the last three seasons abroad, first with Baloncesto Sevilla and then FC Barcelona. He'll play for Barcelona again in 2015-16, but from there he's expected to finally make his way stateside.
The Washington Wizards expect their former No. 32 overall pick to join them for 2016-17, J. Michael of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports, and it's believed the interest goes both ways. The 6-foot-7 shooting guard would have to fit into cap space or an exception, but the Wizards should have plenty of flexibility, and it's unlikely Satoransky commands a bank-breaking salary.
Still just 23, Satoransky averaged 8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while shooting 54.2 percent in the Spanish ACB league last season, impressive production for his age and the level of competition. He struggled with the Wizards at summer league in 2012, but his game has developed since.
