Offensive Line Rankings
32-21 | 20-11 | 10-1

20. Tennessee Titans

Pos. Starter
LT Taylor Lewan
LG Andy Levitre
C Brian Schwenke
RG Chance Warmack
RT Jeremiah Poutasi

Depth: Byron Bell, Jamon Meredith, Fernando Velasco, Byron Stingily

  • This relatively young group will have to prove itself early on, but the Titans have put together a solid foundation up front.
  • Lewan and Warmack are each well on their way to emerging as top talents, and the group will be looking for similar development from both Schwenke and Poutasi.
  • Head coach Ken Whisenhunt has hinted throughout the offseason that Levitre needs to improve his play. If Levitre continues to struggle, the team may turn to another option at left guard.

19. Chicago Bears

Pos. Starter
LT Jermon Bushrod
LG Matt Slauson
C Will Montgomery
RG Kyle Long
RT Jordan Mills

Depth: Vladimir Ducasse, Hroniss Grasu, Jason Weaver, Michael Ola

  • Long has flashed star potential over his first two seasons, and he leads the way for a strong interior group heading into 2015.
  • Tackle is where the Bears face questions going forward, as Bushrod had a disappointing first season with the club and Mills has yet to live up to expectations on the right side.
  • Montgomery could be an underrated addition at center, after coming over from the Broncos with the new coaching staff.

18. Miami Dolphins

Pos. Starter
LT Branden Albert
LG Jamil Douglas
C Mike Pouncey
RG Billy Turner
RT Ja'Wuan James

Depth: Dallas Thomas, J.D. Walton, Jacques McClendon

  • This group's fortunes are entirely dependent upon the return of Branden Albert from a torn ACL and MCL suffered in last season. He currently appears to be on pace for Week 1.
  • The lack of experience elsewhere, aside from Pouncey, saw the Dolphins field one of the league's worst offensive lines in 2014.
  • Free agent Evan Mathis remains an option for Miami. He would be a massive upgrade at guard.

17. Detroit Lions

Pos. Starter
LT Riley Reiff
LG Laken Tomlinson
C Travis Swanson
RG Larry Warford
RT LaAdrian Waddle (INJ)

Depth: Manny Ramirez, Cornelius Lucas, Michael Williams

  • The Lions have built a quality unit that could make its way into the top 10 if everything goes right.
  • The team is hoping Tomlinson can emulate the success Warford has had early in his career. The rookie should make an immediate impact, combining with Reiff to give the Lions a strong tandem on the left side.
  • Waddle, who is recovering from a torn ACL, isn't on pace to return in time for Week 1. Converted tight end Michael Williams is among those in the mix to replace him, but would be a significant downgrade.

16. New York Jets

Pos. Starter
LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson
LG James Carpenter
C Nick Mangold
RG Willie Colon
RT Breno Giacomini

Depth: Brian Winters, Ben Ijalana, Oday Aboushi, Jarvis Harrison

  • Aside from Mangold's dominance inside, there's some concerning inconsistency when it comes to this group controlling the line of scrimmage in the running game.
  • Chan Gailey's spread offense will help in that regard, however, as the offensive line should be facing nickel defenses more often than not.
  • Ferguson has been rock solid at left tackle, but reports surfaced that the team is concerned about his potential decline. He will turn 32 during the season, and if his play drops off, this line could crumble.

15. San Francisco 49ers

Pos. Starter
LT Joe Staley
LG Alex Boone
C Daniel Kilgore (INJ)
RG Marcus Martin
RT Erik Pears

Depth: Joe Looney, Brandon Thomas, Andrew Tiller, Ian Silberman

  • Mike Iupati and Anthony Davis will be difficult to replace, but the 49ers had a few players ready to step in.
  • Brandon Thomas, coming off a redshirt rookie year, should push for a starting spot at right guard. He could've been a first-round pick in 2014 were it not for his knee injury.
  • With right tackle representing a glaring weakness, it's possible the 49ers turn to the free-agent market at final roster cutdowns.

14. Washington Redskins

Pos. Starter
LT Trent Williams
LG Shawn Lauvao
C Kory Lichtensteiger
RG Brandon Scherff
RT Morgan Moses

Depth: Spencer Long, Arie Kouandjio, Josh LeRibeus, Austin Reiter

  • The Redskins have the potential to make a significant leap with Bill Callahan taking over as the offensive line coach. Callahan was in charge of the Cowboys' dominant line last season.
  • Williams was cleared for the start of training camp after working his way back from an ankle injury. When healthy, he's still one of the best tackles in the game.
  • Scherff, the team's first-round pick this season, appears to be locked in at guard. You don't usually take a guard in the top 10, but his addition should instantly improve the running game.

13. San Diego Chargers

Pos. Starter
LT King Dunlap
LG Orlando Franklin
C Chris Watt
RG D.J. Fluker
RT Joe Barksdale

Depth: Johnnie Troutman (INJ), Kenny Wiggins, Chris Hairston

  • Troutman suffered a broken arm in the preseason opener, forcing Fluker to move inside. The right guard position is more fitting for Fluker's ability.
  • With Fluker and Barksdale shoring up the right side of the line, this unit could take a major step forward in 2015.
  • Franklin provides a much-needed upgrade at left guard, and bringing back Dunlap was imperative after a strong first year with the team.

12. Oakland Raiders

Updated: Menelik Watson will miss the 2015 season after suffering a torn Achilles in the preseason.

Pos. Starter
LT Donald Penn
LG Gabe Jackson
C Rodney Hudson
RG J'Marcus Webb
RT Menelik Watson (INJ)

Depth: Austin Howard, Jon Feliciano, Khalif Barnes, Matt McCants

  • Led by a strong season from Penn, as well as the instant impact of Jackson as a rookie, the Raiders' offensive line excelled in pass protection last year.
  • Adding Hudson at center should result in an improved running game, allowing for a more balanced offensive approach.
  • Webb has been a subpar offensive tackle in the NFL, but may be a better fit at right guard.

11. New England Patriots

Pos. Starter
LT Nate Solder
LG Tre' Jackson
C Bryan Stork
RG Ryan Wendell (INJ)
RT Sebastian Vollmer

Depth: Shaq Mason, Marcus Cannon, Josh Kline

  • This group isn't stacked with talent across the board, and the lack of depth is somewhat concerning, but it's one that performs at a high level year after year.
  • Jackson emerging as a rookie would give the Patriots a strong set of run blockers on the interior, allowing the offense to lean on the ground game in Tom Brady's absence.
  • Losing the extremely versatile Dan Connolly could hurt this unit if injuries strike. Wendell is already working his way back from offseason shoulder surgery.
