VIDEO: Mutombo, Olajuwon make surprise appearances in NBA Africa Game
The NBA's first-ever exhibition game on the African continent came with two major surprises on Saturday.
As Team Africa and Team World battled midway through the second quarter, the Johannesburg crowd erupted as two enormous bodies lumbered to the scorer's table to check in.
Hakeem Olajuwon and Dikembe Mutombo then entered the game. Seriously.
This was an awesome surprise, and a fitting one.
Olajuwon, the league's African ambassador, is one of the most successful African basketball exports of all time. The 52-year-old is a two-time NBA champion, a 12-time All-Star, a one-time MVP, and a member of the Hall of Fame.
He also still has it, turning away a Trey Burke floater attempt and then unleashing his patented Dream Shake.
Mutombo, the NBA's global ambassador, didn't have quite the same on-court success Saturday, but seemed to be having a blast. The 49-year-old Congo native recently joined Olajuwon in the Hall of Fame and made eight All-Star appearances during his NBA career.

That's probably the same face everyone watching on Saturday made seeing Mutombo and Olajuwon play. This was really fun.
