Sixers-Kings deal official: Landry, Thompson, Stauskas off to Philadelphia

The Sacramento Kings have officially traded Carl Landry, Jason Thompson, and Nik Stauskas to the Philadelphia 76ers for the draft rights to 2015 draftees Arturas Gudaitis and Luka Mitrovic.
This marks the end of Thompson's 541-game run with the franchise, making him their longest-tenured player since the team moved from Kansas City.

“Jason leaves an indelible mark in Sacramento as the team’s all-time leader in games played, but he was also a champion in the community," said team president Vlade Divac in the Kings' official release.
"Carl and Nik were well regarded as teammates and respected stewards of the organization during their time as Kings. We wish them all great success in the future.”
The move was originally intended to clear cap space for the Kings to entice a high-profile free agent to sign with the team. While that didn't happen, enough room was created for Sacramento to fill the roster with some quality talent to play alongside DeMarcus Cousins, including Rajon Rondo (one year, $10 million), Marco Belinelli (three years, $19 million), and Kosta Koufos (four years, $33 million).
Thompson is set to make $6.4 million next season and $6.8 million in 2016-17, although his contract is only partially guaranteed the second year.
Landry, who averaged 7.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 70 games this past season, will make $6.7 million each of the next two years.
Stauskas was selected with the No. 8 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, Recognized as an elite shooter as a member of the Michigan Wolverines, the 21-year-old Canadian has struggled to bring that sweet shooting touch to the pro level, hitting just 36.5 percent of his field-goal attempts in his rookie campaign.
