Dorell Wright would welcome a return to the Heat

The life of a NBA journeyman isn't always as glamorous as it seems: the uncertainty of one's contract status, living out of a suitcase in a hotel or a rented home, and acclimating oneself to new surroundings, new teammates, and new on-court schemes.
After spending his first six seasons in a Miami Heat uniform, Dorell Wright bounced around the league, with stops in Golden State, Philadelphia and, most recently, Portland. Now, the free-agent small forward is lobbying for a return to South Beach.
Wright did not hold back on his desire to return to where his pro career began in an interview with WQAM's "Big O Show." "I still have my house there and yes, it's a great chance of me returning back to Miami," he said.
When asked to elaborate on his relationship with Heat holdovers Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem and his familiarity with head coach Erik Spoelstra, Wright offered the following sentiments:
I'm good friends with a lot of those guys. I'd be comfortable with coming back and also going out there competing at the highest level. I played against Spo's system. I played for that organization for six years and I understand what they're looking for, what their expectation is from a player each and every day. You've got to bring your hard hat each and every day to work hard in practice and in games.
If that opportunity came up again hopefully it's gonna be good for myself and the family so I can make that move.
Wright was selected by the Heat with the No. 19 pick in the 2004 NBA Draft.
Since the 2009-10 season, his last with the Heat, he's developed into a legitimate threat from beyond the arc, sporting a 36.5 shooting percentage from 3-point range (2009-2015).
The 6-foot-7 Los Angeles native is still only 29 years old, despite having played 11 seasons in the league. He was a member of the 2006 Heat squad that defeated the Dallas Mavericks for the NBA title.
An unrestricted free agent, Wright will likely have to accept the veteran's minimum in order to join his former team, given the Heat's position (and corresponding restrictions) with respect to the salary cap.
