Claudio Marchisio will call Juventus Stadium home until 2020 after agreeing to a new five-year contract with the Serie A champions.

The 29-year-old midifelder has been a regular fixture in the Juve team sheet during the team's run of four straight Serie A titles.

Marchisio could become one of the few players to finish their career with one team as the contract will keep him in Turin until he's 34, with President Andrea Agnelli heaping praise on the Italian international and his elevated status.

“Claudio is already a legend, he’s already part of the museum, and though he’s not yet 30, he’s made over 300 appearances for Juventus, so he’s already among our great," Agnelli said during a press conference, courtesy of Football Italia.

“Claudio is the point of contact between the Juventus of yesterday and the Juventus of tomorrow.

“Even before today he could be considered a senator, but now, with a renewal for the next five years, which means he could end his career at Juventus, he is, in effect, a senator."

Since making his senior debut in 2006, Marchisio has scored 35 goals during 308 appearances and has helped the Bianconeri win seven major trophies.
