The sting of going undrafted sometimes only lasts a moment.

While getting selected in the second round would surely be a rewarding culmination of years of hard work, bubble prospects who don't get picked have the benefit of freedom.

Rather than their draft rights being owned by a team that may or may not use them - hello, Pierre Jackson - an undrafted free agent can choose his destination. The task of fighting onto the roster remains, but that's true for second-round picks, too, as they don't have guaranteed deals.

A handful of undrafted players have worked quickly to secure roster spots for Summer League in July, with a few teams scooping up intriguing fliers that make the always-fun tournament even more relevant offseason viewing.

Here's a quick roundup of last night's commitments, as reported by RealGM, Basketball Insiders, and others where noted.

Atlanta Hawks: Two seasons of prolific but inefficient scoring at Nebraska rendered Terran Petteway available.

Brooklyn Nets: The Nets will give Cliff Alexander an opportunity to prove himself after a disappointing draft night, while also signing UCONN guard and NCAA champion, Ryan Boatright.

Charlotte Hornets: The lone member of the Kentucky Seven to go undrafted, Aaron Harrison will try to shoot his way onto the roster.

Dallas Mavericks: Filipino wing Bobby Ray Parks Jr. will try to play his way to the U.S. instead of aiming for a promotion to Manny Pacquiao's league.

Golden State Warriors: There's probably no room with the champs, but Providence senior LaDontae Henton could carve out a role with Santa Cruz. They'll also bring in the best shooter in the draft in Michael Frazier II.

Houston Rockets: The Rockets have added Oklahoma State standout LeBryan Nash to their Summer League roster, in addition to Denzel Livingston, who averaged more than 20 points over two seasons at Incarnate Word.

Los Angeles Clippers: The Clippers will have Summer League veteran Eric Griffin for their Orlando Summer League stint next month.

Los Angeles Lakers: The Lakers made the biggest splash, securing a commitment from Robert Upshaw. Upshaw was the largest player measured at the combine and has immense potential if his off-court troubles can be ironed out. Brandon Ashley, a junior out of Arizona, will also join them.

Miami Heat: Four-year Northern Iowa forward Seth Tuttle may be able to convince Pat Riley he can be a high-energy playmaking four.

Oklahoma City Thunder: Quinn Cook helped run a national champion and the country's No. 3 offense. Maybe that will help the Blue.

Philadelphia 76ers: UTEP's Vince Hunter was one of the highest-ranked undrafted players and is the type of "if he only had a jumper" athlete the Sixers love. Texas A&M's Jamal Jones and defensive ace T.J. McConnell out of Arizona will join him.

San Antonio Spurs: Four years at VCU weren't enough to land Treveon Graham in the draft, but when the Spurs come calling, there's obviously something there.

Utah Jazz: If nothing else, Harvard senior Wesley Saunders can count cards in Vegas.

Washington Wizards: Dez Wells will look to show his small-sample 3-point success at Maryland is sustainable.
