The San Jose Sharks could be looking to take a bite out of the trade market.
With word coming out Friday that the Vancouver Canucks have approached defenseman Kevin Bieksa about waiving his no-trade clause, the Sharks have emerged as one of his early suitors.
Bieksa, 34, has one year remaining on his current contract with a cap hit of $4.8 million for 2015-16.
In 60 games for the Canucks this past season, Bieksa scored four goals and added 10 assists, posting a 48.5 Corsi For rating at even strength while averaging 20:50 of ice time per game.
