Geoffrey Kondogbia signs contract with Inter, will undergo medical Monday to complete transfer

Geoffrey Kondogbia is just a formality away from joining Inter Milan.

The Italian club confirmed Sunday that the French midfielder, 22, has put pen to paper on a contract, which sees his move to the Serie A side from Monaco continue to inch towards completion.

This comes after a whirlwind series of events which saw the Nerazzurri swoop in and swipe the powerhouse midfielder from under the nose of bitter city rival AC Milan, who thought they had completed a deal to secure the Frenchman's signature Saturday.

"At 1:30 (p.m.) it was all done," Milan general manager Adriano Galliani said, as quoted by Football Italia. "Monaco had given us the all-clear for the sale at €40 million with payment spread over two years - €20 million and €20 million.

"The agreement with Geoffrey had already been sorted out the night before and was confirmed that same morning by him and his father. After we exchanged the documentation, at 1:30 p.m. everyone disappeared. Evidently they changed their minds or the others offered more."

Evidently so.
