Bears experimenting with Kyle Long at left tackle

Chicago Bears right guard Kyle Long was on the move again Wednesday.

After practicing at right tackle Tuesday, Long shifted to left tackle for the second day of the Bears' minicamp, swapping positions with 2014 seventh-round pick Charles Leno.

"I think it is an injustice to just roll a guy, even as simple as it sounds, left to right (without preparation)," head coach John Fox said after practice, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.

"Whether you are doing it with a corner and outside backer, a guard or a tackle, they need to practice it. This is a good time of year to get the techniques, get the sets and all of the different communication that has to happen with the O-line getting that valuable reps and experience."

Long has started 31 of a possible 32 games at right guard during his first two seasons with the Bears, but according to NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, many around the league believe he will end up starting at right tackle in 2015. For now, the Bears appear to be keeping their options open.
