  • Despite his three-game suspension (which may still be reduced), Le'Veon Bell now occupies the second spot in the running back rankings, behind only Adrian Peterson. Waiting on an undeniable talent like Bell is well worth it, and there are plenty of early season replacements available, including DeAngelo Williams (Bell's real-life backup), Tre Mason (if Todd Gurley isn't cleared yet), Chris Ivory (nice schedule the first three weeks), and Danny Woodhead (could see even more targets with Antonio Gates suspended).
  • Justin Forsett is coming off a breakout season and will now get an opportunity to be featured in a Marc Trestman offense. In Chicago, Trestman helped Matt Forte to reception totals of 74 and 102 the last two seasons. Forsett may not top his 1,266 rushing yards from a year ago, but his 44 catches should increase significantly. Unfortunately, the opposite will be true for Forte moving forward.
  • After being showered in hype last offseason, Andre Ellington is entering the 2015 campaign with very little fanfare. The Cardinals back failed to live up to expectations a year ago, but Ellington suffered a foot injury during the preseason and never got back to full health. While many see the arrival of rookie David Johnson as a threat to Ellington's touches, it may actually help him maintain his explosiveness. This year, running behind an improved offensive line, Ellington will finally emerge as a star.
  • If you're having trouble climbing on the C.J. Spiller bandwagon, it's not your fault. It's been moving at breakneck speeds over the last couple months. Spiller is a great candidate to be heavily targeted in a Saints offense that lost several key receiving options. Just remember that Mark Ingram is still the lead ball carrier and, most importantly, it's Ingram who will get the goal-line work. Spiller is worth consideration in the fourth or later.
  • Carlos Hyde will finally get his chance to start in San Francisco, but the 49ers' offensive line is no longer the powerhouse it once was and the team itself could take a significant step back this year. The 49ers may find themselves trailing in more games than they're used to, and that might result in a heavy dose of Reggie Bush as a pass-catching back. I'll be happy to let another owner draft Hyde this year.
  • There are plenty of backfield battles to monitor between now and the start of the season. The Falcons' backfield could produce fantasy gold if someone can separate themselves. Devonta Freeman reportedly has the edge on rookie Tevin Coleman heading into camp ... The Titans reportedly favor a committee, but rookie David Cobb should get the goal-line work over incumbent Bishop Sankey ... The Browns are impressed with what they've seen from rookie Duke Johnson, but Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West will be competing with him for touches in what will likely be a weak offense. It's best to avoid the situation.
  • Players who may disappoint this season: Joique Bell (he's dealing with injuries and rookie Ameer Abdullah might be a star in the making), T.J. Yeldon (could be a three-down back from Day 1, but touchdowns may be hard to come by in Jacksonville), and Doug Martin (the RG3 of running backs, may have peaked during his rookie season).
