NBA Finals: Tristan Thompson cuts halftime deficit to 2 with putback (VIDEO)

And like that, a 13-point first-quarter deficit is nearly erased.

The Cleveland Cavaliers bounced back in a major way in the second quarter of Game 6 on Tuesday, beating the Golden State Warriors 28-17 in the frame to cut their halftime deficit to just two points at 45-43.

It looked like the hole they had to climb out of would be larger when LeBron James missed a late and wild layup attempt, but Tristan Thompson flew in for the putback jam.

This is old hate for Thompson at this point, as he's spent the entire series - and really, the playoffs - doing a masterful job on the offensive glass. He finished the half with 11 points and seven rebounds while shooting 5-of-6 from the floor, nearly reaching his series averages of nine points and 13 rebounds in the series.

The Cavs weren't phenomenally efficient shooting the ball as they came back, but grabbing five of 13 available offensive rebounds in the quarter can go a long way.

This game has been awesome, hardly a surprise given how incredible the entire series has been. Buckle in for the second half.
