VIDEO: Mozgov erases Iguodala layup, Curry floater
This may be a series for bigs after all.
Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt said it wasn't after he played Timofey Mozgov sparingly in Game 5, but Mozgov has proven effective early in Game 6 on Tuesday.
The center has grabbed seven rebounds in 16 minutes of action and has swatted away three Golden State Warriors' shots, and the Cavs have been better with him on the floor than without so far. One of those blocks was of the emphatic variety, with Mozgov erasing an Andre Iguodala layup attempt at the rim.
He also had an impressive rejection on a Steph Curry floater attempt.
Since Kyrie Irving went down with an injury in Game 1, the Cavs have been at their best with Mozgov on the floor, either alongside Tristan Thompson or as the team's lone big. His presence causes some disadvantages, and Iguodala knocking down shots makes it harder to hide Mozgov on defense, but the Cavs' size edge continues to be their best non-LeBron James weapon.
