Kyrie Irving: (Knee) Out 3-to-4 Months After Successful Surgery

Irving (knee) underwent successful surgery on Saturday morning to repair his fractured kneecap and is officially projected to return to basketball activity in 3-to-4 months.

Analysis:

This was the expected amount of time Irving would need to recover, which is now confirmed. Assuming he stays on this recovery schedule, he should be set to return to the court around the start of training camp. As for the Cavaliers, with Irving out, they will turn to Matthew Dellavedova to fill in for Irving as the starting point guard, with J.R. Smith also expected to get additional minutes off the bench.
