PHOTO: Dwight Howard has an open invite to get in a WWE ring

Dwight Howard could be returning to Florida as a free agent in 2016.

Not with the Orlando Magic, but potentially as a member of a different suitor: The WWE, who have their performance center for developmental talents located in Winter Park.

The WWE made Howard a guest Tuesday, as they taped WWE Smackdown at the Toyota Center, the home of Howard's Houston Rockets. Not only did Howard take in the event - sorry, no spoilers for the Thursday broadcast - but he met Triple H backstage, earning an open invitation to step into the ring.

Triple H - real name Paul Levesque - is an enormous 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds, and Howard dwarfs the 13-time world champion. He also happens to be the man largely credited with reshaping how WWE develops talent, acting as the WWE's executive vice president of talent, live events, and creative. Were Howard to ever make a jump to WWE, temporary or permanent, this would be the guy making it happen.

The 29-year-old Howard is probably more than a few years away from considering a post-basketball career-change, but it's not unthinkable he could pull a Karl Malone-Dennis Rodman at some point.

Howard's actually stepped foot in the ring in the past, interrupting Bulgarian bad guy Rusev at an untelevised event in January.

So he has a ready-made feud if he wants to get involved, although Rusev is currently on the shelf with an injury. There is no shortage of fellow 7-footers who may want to tangle with the 275-pound Howard, who sure looks like he could body slam a jabroni or two.
