Rousey responds to Correia's tasteless suicide comment; Correia apologizes

The UFC 190 headliner between Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia just got personal.

The Brazilian fighter had some ugly remarks for her upcoming opponent in an interview Wednesday with Combate.

Correia chose a particularly distasteful way to say that, after Correia's done beating the current champion, Rousey doesn't have to worry she won't get the opportunity for a rematch.

"She can't handle pressure. I will give her the opportunity to try and get the belt back. Please don't kill yourself - don't commit suicide, because I will give you the rematch," she said, as translated by MMAJunkie.

The comment is objectionable to begin with, but making matters much worse, Rousey has lost a family member to suicide. Her father, suffering from excruciating back pain, took his own life when Rousey was only 8 years old.

Rousey replied to the remark late Wednesday.

Correia has since apologized for the awful comment.

Correia has continuously picked at Rousey in promotion of their upcoming bout, which may end up being a bad move. Ronda Rousey is scary, but an angry Ronda Rousey is straight-up horrifying.

The two fighters will meet in the Octagon Aug. 1 in Brazil.
