Hawks say Korver will undergo ankle surgery Wednesday
With his Atlanta Hawks on the ropes Tuesday night, sharpshooter Kyle Korver announced that he will undergo surgery on his right ankle Wednesday.
The team confirmed Tuesday that he will undergo the procedure on what the team has called a "severe high ankle sprain." The injury knocked Korver out of the postseason in last Friday's Game 2 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Cavs guard Matthew Dellavedova landed on Korver's right leg while diving for a loose ball, prompting accusations that Dellavedova is a dirty player.
Dellavedova reacted to the news with disappointment in Cleveland on Tuesday.
Matthew Dellavedova upon hearing Kyle Korver having surgery: "Not what I wanted to hear. It's unfortunate. I didn't want that to happen."

After a feel-good, franchise-record 60-win regular season, everything seems to be coming apart for the Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals. The 34-year-old Korver had one of the best shooting seasons in NBA history, flirting with the magical 50-50-90 line. He finished the year with a 48.7 percent field goal percentage, 49.2 percent from deep and 89.8 percent from the foul line - for a true shooting percentage of 69.9.
On Monday, Hawks teammate DeMarre Carroll suggested that Korver could be out four-to-six months, which could infringe on next season. The team quickly pointed out that there was no timetable yet set for Korver.
