The Toronto Blue Jays have selected Jon Harris out of Missouri State as the 29th overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft.

For their first pick in the draft, the Blue Jays got a steal in Harris, who is one of the more polished pitchers in the NCAA.

Though he doesn't play in the toughest conference, he's shown that he's able to perform when it matters most. It's also worth noting the club doesn't need to work too much with him, as Harris is close to his ceiling.

Overview

Jon Harris was a coveted pitcher in high school, though he wasn't nearly as polished as he is now.

Drafted in the 33rd round by the Blue Jays in the 2012 MLB Draft, Harris elected to go to Missouri State, where he's done nothing if not thrive. With a low-90s fastball with arm-side run, it's so effective given he throws a plus changeup, a curveball, and a slider.

Harris has an extremely fast arm coming through with good leverage while creating a solid downhill angle upon his release.
