Nationals' Harper ejected in 7th inning vs. D-backs after being wrung up on check swing

Nobody's been hotter than Bryce Harper over the last week, but he let his temper get the better of him Wednesday afternoon.

The Washington Nationals outfielder was ejected in the seventh inning of a 5-5 game versus the Arizona Diamondbacks after he was wrung up on a check swing by home plate umpire Rob Drake, who didn't ask for help from the third base umpire on the play.

Nationals manager Matt Williams also took issue with the call and was promptly ejected.

"I said, 'You're gonna have to check it," Harper said following the game. "He said, 'You're really gonna act like that?' I didn't like that comment from him. I don't like getting talked down to by an umpire."

Harper went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk in the contest, and had entered with seven homers in his previous six games.
