Overview

Forsbacka-Karlsson is an offensively gifted pivot with a high hockey IQ. Despite needing to develop more consistency in his game, his scoring touch isn't in question.

Although his skating is average, he passes the biscuit well. His intense style of play - which helped him win a gold medal with Sweden at the 2013 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge - is also intriguing.

The 18-year-old Swede is committed to playing at Boston University in the fall of 2015.

What the scouts are saying

"A player who has worked hard at his all-around game, but needs to gain more consistency. That being said, he can be an offensively effective center; possesses a high level of hockey intelligence and plays with intensity. A smooth, yet not dynamic skater. An excellent passer; can turn a 'nothing doing' play into a scoring chance." - Elite Prospects' Curtis Joe

"While Forsbacka-Karlsson lacks a wow-factor to his game, the Swedish import is an effective two-way pivot who profiles well as a second or third pairing center at the highest level. He was one of the top play-makers in the USHL in his draft year." - Hockey Prospectus' Ryan Wagman
