And now we play the waiting game.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao both made weight at the MGM Grand on Friday ahead of their mega-anticipated May 2 showdown.

Mayweather Jr. weighed in at 146 lbs.

Pacquiao came in at 145 lbs., two pounds under the welterweight cutoff of 147.

On the undercard, Leo Santa Cruz made 124.5 lbs. and Jose Cayetano made 125 lbs. for their featherweight bout while Vasyl Lomachenko made 125.5 lbs and Gamalier Rodriguez made 126 lbs. for their own featherweight battle.

The two fighters engaged in the customary staredown following the weigh-in, and while Mayweather kept a stoic look on his face, it appeared as if Pacquiao was having difficulty keeping himself from laughing.

With over 11,500 fans on hand - despite the fact the event required paid admission - the MGM Grand was abuzz with anticipation, and Mayweather continued to sing the same kind of tune he has his whole career.

"I believe that with my skills, I'm going to be victorious," said the undefeated Mayweather.

"I don't take anything away from Manny Pacquiao, he's a solid fighter and it will be an intriguing matchup. But after Saturday, I'll still be 'TBE' (The Best Ever)."

Pacquiao, on the other hand, was a touch more humble and looked to his roots to fully grasp the situation in which he now lives.

"My life before was living on the street, starving and with nothing," Pacquiao said.

"It is still beyond my imagination that this boy could become known to every person in the Philippines and so many around the world."
