The Toronto Blue Jays aren't expecting to have outfielder Michael Saunders make his team debut until closer to the end of the month as he continues to rehab from knee surgery.
"It's going to be a couple of more weeks anyways before we see him, but he's progressing," manager John Gibbons told Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com. "He has been able to swing the bat, he just hasn't been able to run, but it's starting to move along."
Saunders suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee in late February after stepping on a sprinkler head at the team's spring training facility and was placed on the disabled list to begin the season.
The 28-year-old, who was acquired from the Seattle Mariners on December, hit .273/.341/.450 with eight home runs in 78 games last season.
