The Minnesota Vikings selected offensive tackle T.J. Clemmings out of Pittsburgh in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, finally ending his slide at the 110th overall slot.

Clemmings was thought by many to be a first-round prospect, but concerns surrounding a stress fracture in his foot may have played a significant factor in him dropping so far.

If healthy, it would be no surprise to see Clemmings compete for a starting spot on the Vikings' offensive front heading into the 2015 campaign.

Strengths

  • A converted defensive end. Only scratching the surface of what he can accomplish as an offensive lineman. May need to begin his career at right tackle and prove he deserves a shot at playing left tackle.
  • Coaches will salivate at his raw physical potential.
  • A force as a run blocker.

Weaknesses

  • Must improve technique as a pass blocker. Struggles defending lateral pass-rushing moves.
  • Looks like he's overthinking things. Too robotic in his motions. Needs more experience to begin playing by instinct. [Chalk Talk]
  • Difficult to project as a pro because of his limited experience on the offensive line.
