The Memphis Grizzlies continue a busy start to the offseason.

The Phoenix Suns selected Kentucky point guard Andrew Harrison with the No. 44 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft on Thursday night. The Suns then traded Harrison to the Grizzlies for Jon Leuer, the club announced.

The sixth Wildcats player off the board, Harrison goes ahead of twin brother Aaron thanks to his ability to man the point. Both players were disappointing relative to expectations in two seasons, but 6-foot-5.5 point guards with 6-foot-9 wingspans are hard to come by.

Having spent ample time in a pressure cooker of expectations, playing with NBA-quality teammates, Harrison should be more ready to contribute than most of the other names available at this point. He's a great scorer, a solid defender, and has an effective outside shot. If concerns about his attitude are ironed out and he becomes more consistent in creating for others, the Grizzlies may have just landed a cheap backup point guard.

In Leuer, the Suns take a flier on a potential floor-spacer who has struggled to get playing time in Memphis. He has a non-guaranteed $1-million salary for 2015-16, giving them a bit of salary relief if they deem him expendable. Should they keep him, they'll hope the 4.6 points and 2.8 rebounds he's averaged over 186 games can be expanded and that his 36.7-percent mark from outside in a small sample is legitimate.
