The Utah Jazz selected Boston College shooting guard Olivier Hanlan with the No. 42 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft on Thursday night.

Three years of college may have hurt his draft stock, but the 22-year-old also has the benefit of offering the Jazz an NBA-ready package, and with last year's first-round draft picks - Dante Exum and Rodney Hood - still raw, and Trey Burke's development seemingly stunted, Utah could use another steady hand in the backcourt.

A heady player who can help run the pick-and-roll as a secondary ball-handler, Hanlan is just slightly short of being one of the better two-guard prospects in the draft.

His scoring ability should translate to an NBA second unit, as Hanlan can hit from outside and fight his way to the rim for foul calls. He's not the best athlete or defender, the latter standing as a key focus area for improvement, and he's not a good enough passer to slide to the one on a full-time basis.

At No. 42, limitations are expected, and fans would be well-served to focus on the scoring, which came against heavy defensive pressure in the ACC.
