What if Nick Young played defense?

The Los Angeles Lakers may be trying to find out after selecting Stanford shooting guard Anthony Brown with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft on Thursday night.

Check your feet. Where are you standing right now? Cool. That means you're in Brown's shooting range. While perhaps somewhat one-dimensional, the senior can really shoot, to the extent he's a projected 36.7-percent 3-point shooter in the NBA.

There's always a place for that kind of marksmanship, and Brown can probably grow into more than just a spot-up threat. With a 6-foot-11.25 wingspan, a good motor, and experience guarding top wings in the Pac-12, the vaunted 3-and-D label wouldn't be a stretch for Brown.

The concern that he'll be just a shooter is fair - his steal rate was low for a good defender, and he doesn't possess an elite skill outside of shooting - but even then, he's not a bad flier at No. 34.

He may need to cut his hair to join the Lakers, though, as there's already one perceived gunner with his look.
