Step aside, Peter Bondra. The Washington Capitals have a new franchise leader in goals.
Alex Ovechkin recorded his 51st goal of the season and 473rd of his career Thursday in Montreal, passing Bondra on the club's all-time scoring list.
The milestone goal was scored in fine fashion on none other than Canadiens goalie Carey Price, Ovechkin's top competition in this year's Hart Trophy race.
Ovechkin added his second of the game - his 52nd of the season - in the third period, and remains the clear leader in the race for the Maurice Richard Trophy.
There's no telling where this new bar will eventually be set in Washington, but here's betting it won't be eclipsed any time soon.
