Rockets' McHale: Beverley probably done for season

Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale confirmed Sunday that a torn wrist ligament is expected to end Patrick Beverley's season. 

McHale told reporters the point guard probably won't be back, but that a final decision has yet to be made. Beverley has missed the team's last three games since sustaining the injury. 

The Rockets have started veteran Jason Terry alongside MVP frontrunner James Harden in the backcourt while Beverley has been out. They've won all three of those contests, including Sunday's 99-91 win over the Washington Wizards, to extend their winning streak to four games. 

Houston moved into a tie for first place with the Memphis Grizzlies in the Southwest Division with nine contests remaining. 

Beverley, in his second season as the team's starting point guard, has averaged 10.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 30.8 minutes per game. He's one of three Rockets averaging more than two 3-pointers per contest.
