Taylor was dismissed from Georgia last July following an alleged domestic violence incident. He signed on with Alabama in January.

Deborah Lane, assistant to the president and associate vice president for Alabama's relations issued a statement, as reported by Kevin Scarbinsky of AL.com:

Jonathan Taylor was admitted to The University of Alabama following the same procedures that the UA Admissions office uses to evaluate any student who has dealt with legal issues. The admissions process includes representatives from academic, legal, student affairs, student conduct, UAPD and counseling. Athletics is not involved in the admissions process.

The 21-year-old has been participating in spring practice, but with two domestic violence arrests under his belt in less than a year, it's difficult to imagine Nick Saban would allow him to hang around.

Taylor was a four-star member of the 2012 recruiting class.
