Georgia defensive lineman dismissed after 2nd summer arrest

Rob Foldy / USA TODAY Sports

Georgia defensive tackle Jonathan Taylor was dismissed from the football program on Wednesday, a day after his second arrest of the summer.

Taylor was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with aggravated assault, and was one of four players charged with fraud in March for cashing student stipend checks twice.

For his latest arrest, Taylor spent 28 hours in jail before he was released Wednesday afternoon, according to the Macon Telegraph. Not long thereafter, Taylor was dismissed from the football team.

Taylor is a four-star recruit from the class of 2012. He was listed as the third defensive tackle on the team's depth chart prior to his dismissal.
