Nunes eyes rematch with Zingano

Amanda Nunes quickly demolished women's MMA pioneer Shayna Baszler at UFC Fight Night 62 on Saturday night, and wasted little time in trying to line up her next challenge.

"I'd really like to fight Cat (Zingano) again," Nunes told reporters following the bout. "That night, it wasn't me who was in there. And who knows, maybe another opportunity, a rematch against her, it would be very good."

Nunes showed flashes of brilliance against Zingano the first time they fought at UFC 178 in September, dominating the opening round with heavy ground-and-pound before eventually gassing out, and losing via third round TKO. It was an incredible fight for Zingano, who earned a title shot against Ronda Rousey with the stirring victory.

"I had some personal problems during my last fights, and I couldn't concentrate," Nunes said. "I am really happy to see everything changed. I am now part of American Top Team, and things could not have started any better."

Zingano lasted a mere 14 seconds against Rousey in February, falling victim to an arm bar after whiffing on an ill-advised flying knee. The UFC doesn't usually pit a fighter coming off a win against a fighter fresh off a loss, but a bout between Zingano and Nunes could make sense for both women.

"We are here," Nunes said. "From now on, whatever (UFC president) Dana (White) decides for me, I'm going to be facing it."
