Report: Cardinals clearing cap space to add Adrian Peterson

The Arizona Cardinals are hoping to add Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson and are clearing the cap space to do so, according to Yahoo Sports' Rand Getlin.
Peterson reportedly wants out of Minnesota and the team has been exploring trade options.
According to Getlin, Peterson's preferred destination is Arizona, where he'd be a gargantuan upgrade over Andre Ellington.
The 2012 MVP has three years remaining on his contract, with a cap hit of $15.4 million entering the 2015 season.
Peterson was suspended indefinitely by the NFL on Nov. 18 after being indicted on child abuse charges. However, he was reinstated on Feb. 26.
In 2013, Peterson rushed for 1,266 yards and 10 touchdowns.
