Weidman to Belfort: your past failed drug tests led to current testing situation

Chris Weidman's message to Vitor Belfort: if you didn't want to be drug tested so much, you shouldn't have failed so many drug tests.

Belfort went on a bit of a rant recently, telling Brazilian media he didn't mind being subjected to multiple random drug tests, as long as his opponents were being treated in the same manner.

"The funny thing is that everybody is clean, nobody do anything wrong. But when they started testing everybody, how many got caught? Forty percent? That shows that for the system to work, everybody has to be tested equally," Belfort told Brazilian reporters during UFC 184 last week, as translated by MMAFighting.com's Guilherme Cruz. "If they come test me for my fight with (UFC middleweight champion Chris) Weidman, they have to go test Weidman as well on the same date, same time. That's an equal system. It has to be fair. It's not fair that they test me seven times and only test him once."

Weidman, the UFC middleweight champion, responded to Belfort on Twitter, reminding "The Phenom" that his past indiscretions are what led to his current situation.

After multiple failed attempts, Weidman and Belfort will finally square off in the Octagon at UFC 187 on May 23.
